His positive attitude and God given strength was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Garrett was born on December 8, 1994 in Bakersfield, California to Hugh and Andrea Prather and he attended Almondale Elementary where he had many, many friends and teachers that he loved. Garrett was a very athletic child and loved to play baseball, golf, soccer and ride his quads with his two sisters, Lauren and Nikki. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and New York Yankees and in June he was privileged to have been able to go to a Yankees game and to personally meet all of the team players. Garrett leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Hugh and Andrea Prather; sisters, Lauren and Nikole; grandparents, Earl and Linda Thomas of Bakersfield and Gene and Beth Applegate of Phoenix, Arizona and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A celebration of Garretts life will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at Stine Road Baptist Church, 3001 Stine Rd. Pastor Jeff Ward will be officiating the services. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. There will be no public viewing hours scheduled. Garrett will be tremendously missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Funeral services have been entrusted to West Side Family Mortuary, Taft (661) 763-1594.
