She was raised in Orange County and married James Saiki on August 14, 1977. They moved to Bakersfield in 1982 where they raised four sons. She is survived by her steadfast husband of 27 years, Jim; son and daughter-in-law, David and Sarah; sons, Greg, Tim, and Kevin and a grandson on the way. Moms transition to eternity is an unspeakable loss to her family and friends. She profoundly influenced her family through her sensitive and selfless spirit. Mom always looked forward to family time, especially summer vacations at Bass Lake. She was a top fund raiser in the Relay for Life, caring for other cancer survivors despite her failing health. Mom began her battle with breast cancer in April of 1995. She taught her sons by example how to be warriors. She loved and cared for her husband, more concerned about his wellbeing than her own. She constantly prayed for her family, and loved and trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Healer. A memorial service will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Chapel on November 5th at 10:00 am, followed by a graveside service. But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us Romans 8:37 In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
