Nov. 16, 12 p.m. Born December 8, 1947 and passed on November 11, 2004, after a long illness. A cherished friend to many, she spent several of her early years in Brazil, where she immersed herself in its language and its people. She continued her passion for learning by returning to college in her thirties and graduating Cum Laud in Business from CSUB. An accomplished writer, she also had a love for every facet of the theatre and for many years worked as a stagehand out of IATSE Local 215. Through her illness she was continually thankful for the care and consideration shown by the brothers and sisters of her union family. During her illness, she felt respected and well cared for by her doctors and the staff at CBCC. She always knew the full support of her sister, Bonnie, who did much to lighten her burden. Thanks to her brother, she and David were able to celebrate her last Christmas and their twenty-fifth anniversary together with family in West Virginia. A loving and devoted partner to her husband, David, she courageously explored her place in the natural and the spiritual world. She deeply loved and missed her father, Mel Craig, mother, Lena Craig, mother- in-law, Barbara Hicks, and her beloved nephews, Andrew and Craig Crumpley, who passed on before her. She is survived by her husband, David Hicks; her brother, Melvin Craig and wife, Ginger; her sister, Bonnie Crumpley and husband, Jim; sister, Pam Craig; her father-in-law, Ray Hicks; sister-in-law, Alison Card and husband, Ken; brother-in-law, Brent Hicks and wife, Lori; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Viewing will be 5-9 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2004, at Kern River Family Mortuary, 1900 N. Chester. There will be a memorial service Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at 12:00 p.m., at First Church of Religious Science, 222 Eureka. In lieu of flowers, please donate to CBCC or your charity of choice.
