Sylvia was born March 21, 1961 in Bakersfield, CA and she passed away on November 13, 2004 in Los Angeles, CA with her family by her side. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Emigdio and Rosalba Verdin and her grandmother Senorina Ruiz; and she is survived by her sisters and brothers-in- law, Martha and Roger Sandoval, Frances Melinda and Macario Fernandez, Jr. and Mari and Andy Gomez; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Dora Verdin and Nestor and Amelia Verdin; 15 nieces and nephews, 8 great-nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Sylvia loved to visit her relatives in Arizona. She enjoyed going to the casinos with her frozen quarters that she heard brought good luck. Sylvia also enjoyed playing a card game called Pitty Pat and she played for keeps. Sylvia deeply cared for her dog Babe and she enjoyed listening to music. Sylvia loved going to Spanish concerts with family. Sylvia was a collector of Coca Cola memorabilia and angels. Sylvia shared cooking recipes (when she felt it was needed). Sylvia was always available to her young nieces and nephews to listen and give advice. Sylvia was always ready to give and never expected anything in return. Sylvia was small but a very strong and feisty lady, she would automatically win you over with her smile. She was blessed by God with a strong will to live and cherished the life God had given her. But now God has called for her to be with Him and she may now rest in peace with a life everlasting. Sylvia, we love you and we will miss you dearly.
