Wayne L. "Mac" McBride
Services: Sat., Nov. 20, 10:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., 
Bakersfield, for longtime Kern County resident, Wayne Lawrence McBride, age 
92. 

Wayne was delivered by his father, Dr. Oba C. McBride on December 18, 1911, in 
Oscar, Missouri, the eighth of eleven children born to Oba Chesley and Dunnie 
Belle (Harry) McBride. Wayne passed away in Bakersfield, Friday, November 12, 
2004, after a short illness.

Wayne moved to Taft in 1934 and found work in the oilfields near Taft. He 
hired on with Tidewater Associated and retired 38 years later as a District 
Foreman for the pipeline department of Getty Oil (Chevron Texaco) in 1974.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Kathryn (Trinkie to 
friends) and eight of his siblings. Survivors include his sisters, Margie and 
Avolyn; his son and his wife, Kent and Sherry McBride and their daughters, 
Jennifer, Kimberly and Amy; and grandchildren, Armando, Jessica, Brandon, 
Madison and David.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects, Saturday morning from 
9:00 a.m. to service time at 10:30 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel. 

Wayne led a strong, healthy, loving life for nearly all of his 92 years. An 
avid golfer, he was able to enjoy the game with friends and his son until just 
a few months before his death. He gladly gave assistance to others, but never 
asked for any himself. He is dearly missed by his family and friends, but 
Heaven has gained a wonderful man.
