Lawrence attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School, Garces Memorial High School, and graduated from Bakersfield High in 1956. He went on to become a Supervisor of the Public Works Department with the City of Bakersfield retiring in 1996. Lawrence was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He touched the lives of each and everyone of us whether it was through his carpentry, religious devotion, strength, wisdom, or selfless sacrifice. Lawrence loved reading a good book, spending time with his family on vacation and going to all the sporting activities that his grandchildren were involved in. He was their #1 Fan! The whole Pena family had a piece of their hearts taken up with him to Heaven. Lawrence led by example and paved the way for us to join him in Heaven. It is now up to us! God must have had Jesus starting a major remodel so he called Lawrence up for assistance. Lawrence is preceded in death by his loving parents, and twin daughter, Patricia. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven wonderful years, Theresa; his brother, Ronny Pena; and his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Mark Estrada, Diana and Sam Rodriguez, Terry and Paul Aguilar, Patty and Alex Martinez, Christina and Scott Stinger, and only son, Carlos Pena; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; Aunt Lucy Pena Wilkerson and Aurelia Pena and many loving relatives in the Pena and Lostaunau families.
