"Mike" Gonzalez Jr. Nov. 25, 1926-Nov. 20, 2004 Visitation for Miguel Figueroa Mike Gonzalez, Jr. will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) on Tuesday evening from 5:00 9:00 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Wednesday morning November 24, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Miguel was born November 25, 1926 in Kansas City, Kansas and he passed away on November 20, 2004 in Bakersfield, California with his family by his side. Miguel is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Belina Gonzalez; and brother, Enrique Henry Gonzalez; and he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Gonzalez; son and daughter-in-law, Gabriel and Loretta Gonzalez; daughter, Maria T. Gonzalez; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Luis Damian; brother and sister-in-law, Jose Aguilino and Alicia Gonzalez; 3 grandsons, Gabriel, Emiliano and Diego Gonzalez; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Miguel served our country in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 in the Korean War. After his discharge in 1952, he married his sweetheart, Mary Sanchez. In his leisure time he enjoyed traveling to Mexico to visit family. He loved his son, Gabriel and daughter, Maria and cherished his three grandsons, Gabriel Emiliano and Diego. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and he will be deeply missed by his loved ones. He will forever be in our hearts. The family would like to extend thanks to Optimal Hospice and especially Nurse Mary Williams for helping to support and care for our Dad.
