Rev. Chuck Cournyea officiating. She was born on March 2, 1924 in Bodfish, California to Jack Oldfield and Daisy Rhodehamel. She attended KCUHS (now BHS) and worked as a bookeeper in her early career. She served as bookkeeper for her husband, Frank R. Loustalot, Jr., who was the elected Constable for the Arvin Lamont Judicial District. She was an advocate for senior caregiving and was cited for her volunteerism. She loved people. Her last days were happy. She was loved by the staff and residents of the Orchard Heights Senior Community and Special Care Unit, in West Salem, Oregon. Her family was close by. She would often say, I just LOVE it here. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her son, Dr. John Byrom; her sister, Florence Wheeler and parents, Jack and Daisy Oldfield. She is survived by her son, Tom Loustalot and his wife, Sue of Tehachapi, CA; daughter, Jill Martin and her husband, Lloyd of Dallas, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Glenda Byrom of Bakersfield; sister-in-law, Yvonne Liner of Bakersfield; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Al and Nancy Loustalot of Pismo Beach. She has seven grandchildren, Michael Loustalot (Sharon) of Bay Point, CA; Kimberly Loustalot of Bakersfield; Shawna Byers (James) of Bakersfield, Deric Haddad (Heather) of Elizabeth, PA; Cale, Drew and Paige Byrom of Bakersfield; four great- grandchildren, Wylie and Abraham Haddad of Elizabeth, PA; Karl Loustalot and Hudson Byers of Bakersfield; niece, Monica Carrasco of Ridgecrest and many other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Amberly Van Winkle, her private caregiver. The family will always hold dear all the caregivers and staff at Dallas Retirement Village, and Orchard Heights Senior Commuity and Special Care Memory Unit, especially, Jillien Smith, Pastor Gene Regan, Natalie Barnett and Andria Carroll. Memorial gifts can be made to the Dorothy Loustalot Memorial Fund, c/o KSFCU, P.O. Box 9506, Bakersfield, CA 93389. These gifts will augment the memory care unit at Orchard Heights Senior Community in Salem, OR, the place that treated her like a special angel in her last days. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in Salem, Oregon.
