Services: Friday, Nov. 26, 1 p.m.

Memorial services will be held Friday, November 26, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the 
Kern River Family Mortuary, 1900 N. Chester Ave., Bakersfield, CA, with Pastor 
John Scoggins officiating. The Lord took Jerry home on November 19, 2004 at 
the age of 71. 

He was born on January 28, 1933, in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Ransom and 
Gertrude Pool. They moved to California in 1934 and founded one of the camps 
in Weedpatch during the Dust Bowl days. He was a member of the 1st graduating 
class of Arvin High in 1952.

Jerry was retired from the Operating Engineers Local #12. Jerry was a bigger 
than life person who never met a stranger and was always the life of the 
party. He was never without a smile and a good joke. He will be missed by his 
many friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Barbara Gail Pool and 
Dottie Beechly and brother, Bob Pool. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 
years, Virginia; son and wife, Jerry Dale and Denise Pool; daughter and 
husband, Tawyna and Rex Pace; stepson and wife, Scott and Cindy Ely; 
grandchildren, Justin and Joshua Pool, Nicole Sizemore Pace, Tyler Pace, 
Spencer and Samantha Ely; one sister, Virginia Williams all of whom are from 
Bakersfield; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stan and Bette Anne Ratzlaff of 
Oak Park, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
