William Eugene Griggs
April 18, 1940-Nov. 21, 2004

Bill was born and raised in Bakersfield, the youngest of 6 children born to 
William and Mandy Griggs. He attended local schools in East Bakersfield and 
joined the U.S. Navy when he was 17, and was honorably discharged when he was 
21. 

Bill met his wife Linda of 36 years at Andres on Brundage in June of 1968, and 
they married 66 days later and spent 36 years raising their son Kenneth, and 
granddaughter Lauren Dean Azevedo-Griggs and going to swap-meets and antique 
shows when ever possible.

Bill worked as a truck driver until he had to retire due to heart problems, a 
loss that he felt everyday.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, their son, Kenneth; brothers, Chuck 
and Jessie; and sisters, Doris and Billie; mother-in-law, Patsy Graham; 
brother-in-law, Greg Graham; brother-in-law, Walt Pelzer. He is survived by 
his wife Linda; granddaughter, Lauren; brother, Rick Griggs; father-in-law, 
Don Graham, brother-in-law, Jeff Graham and his family; and many nieces, 
nephews and many friends.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 26, 10 a.m., at Greenlawn 
Memorial Park.
