Services: Mon., Nov. 29, 11 a.m. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at 
Compassion Christian Church, 1030 4th St. for Signe Bentley, 96, who died 
November 23, in Bakersfield. Pastor James Tyler will officiate. Interment will 
follow at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mrs. Bentley was born and raised in Bakersfield where she worked 20 years as 
an operator for Pacific Bell. She was a volunteer at the Kern County Fair and 
entered their flower shows for over forty years. She was a member of VASA 
Order of America (Swedish Lodge), Runeberg Lodge and was a charter member of 
the Swedish-Finn Historical Society of Seattle.

Mrs. Bentley is survived by her brother, Gerald Fornas of Bakersfield; nieces, 
Sharon Shoreen, Brenda Garrett, Carol Scamaccia and Theresa and her husband, 
Tom Ellis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Bentley; brothers, 
Arthur, Elmer and Ernold Fornas; sisters, Mildred Fornas and Helen Stephenson; 
and parents, Theodore and Alina Fornas.

The family requests donations be made to Grace Lutheran Church or a favorite 
charity of your choice.

Visitation is scheduled Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
