Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mom was born in Bakersfield on October 8, 1921. She was a third generation graduate of KCUHS (now BHS), where she was president of the Girls League. She began studying ballet at an early age and later taught and danced professionally. During WWII, Mom was a bank teller at Minter Field, where she met and married our Dad, 2nd Lt. Charles D. Leech Jr. Mom was the quintessential homemaker and prided herself on being an exceptional seamstress. More recently, Mom found much enjoyment with her friends at Glenwood Gardens. Additionally, she was very much involved with the Bakersfield Womens Club, serving as usher, planning decorations and even modeling for fashion shows. Also dear to her heart was her involvement with the Driller Reunion Committee. Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Leech Jr., her parents, Harold and May Pauly and by her grandparents, Kern County Pioneers, Essa and Leo G. Pauly. She is survived by her son, Carl Leech and his wife, Becky; daughters, Carol Leech and Vicki Gardner and her husband, George. Our mom was a loving grandmother to Guy and Taylor Leech, Matt and Chad Browne. Also treasured are her four great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Glenwood Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility for their unwavering dedication and the loving care they gave to Mom.
