Services: Thurs., Dec. 2, 1:30 p.m. 

Services will be held Thursday, December 2nd at 1:30 p.m. in Greenlawn 
Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., for Lois Evelyn Barnes, 90, of Bakersfield, 
who passed away on November 26, 2004 at her home. Pastor Jack Taylor will 
officiate and interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Barnes was born October 17, 1914 in Arkansas and had been a resident of 
Bakersfield for 67 years. She had been a medical assistant for 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Barnes; mother, Ellon 
Boshears; father, Henry Whitfield; two sisters, Gladys Smith of Little Rock, 
Arkansas and Flossie Bivins of Roland, Arkansas; and two brothers, Herschel 
Whitfield of Roland, Arkansas and Clarence Whitfield of Corvallis, Oregon.

She is survived by her son, Hal R. Barnes, his wife, Sabra and grandson, Luke 
H. Barnes; daughter, Sharon Beckman and granddaughters, Kari and Susan 
Beckman, all of Bakersfield; three sisters, Coy Smith of Sibley, Louisiana, 
Shirley Lambros of Roland, Arkansas and Nadean White of Bakersfield; two great-
granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by all including her special friends, Ruth Boshears, 
Virginia Kizziar and Clarence Cates.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Greenlawn 
Mortuary.
