Helen Jean Garratt

Helen Jean Garratt was born August 15, 1918 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Her 
parents were the late Lillian and Lyle Ayers of Taft, CA. She was preceded in 
death by her parents, her husband, Walter Garratt and her daughter, Gayla 
Jean. 

She is survived by her sons, Walter Lawrence (Larry) Garratt and his wife, 
Nancy, and Lyle Anthony Garratt and his wife, Janet, all of Bakersfield; 2 
granddaughters, Pamela Jill Poon and Holly Patricia Gossard and their husbands 
and 4 great-grandchildren.

Helen had lived in the Taft area since 1920. She was a member of the Community 
Presbyterian Church, Friends of the Library and the West Kern Oil Museum. 

Memorials may be sent to the Taft branch of the Kern County Library Memorial 
Book Fund or the West Kern Oil Museum. At Helens request, no services will be 
held.
