Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Thursday, December 2, 2004, at 7:00 
p.m., at Hopson-Anspach Chapel, and Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 
Friday, December 3, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church for 
Carmen Vasquez Benavente, 65, of Bakersfield, who passed away November 26, 
2004. Father Ricardo Magdaleno will officiate the service and interment will 
be followed at Union Cemetery, Bakersfield. Carmen Vasquez Benavente was born 
August 30, 1939 in Bakersfield, California to Felix Vasquez and Margarita 
Hernandez. She married Hector Cabellero Benavente on December 5, 1970 in Las 
Vegas, and renewed their vows on June 1, 1985 at St. Josephs. Carmen attended 
East Bakersfield High School and was last employed at Cal Almonds as a Head 
Lineman. 

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, 
Hector Benavente Sr.; son, Leo Micheal Parra, Edward Victor Parra, Hector V. 
Benavente Jr.; daughter, Helen Ann Parra; brothers, Felix Vasquez, Johnny 
Vasquez; sisters, Helen Ann Diaz, Rebecca Torres, Antonia Redhorse and Alice 
Lopez Garcia; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, Leo Michael Parra 
Jr., Edward Victor Parra, David Anthony and Sherri Parra, Helen Ann Parra, 
Hector Vasquez Benavente Jr. and Yvonne.

Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Vasquez, Felix Vasquez, Hector 
Benavente Sr. Serving as pallbearers are Leo M. Parra Jr., Eddie Parra, David 
Parra, Helen Parra, Hector V. Benavente Jr., Harvey Rivas, Fernando DeLa Rosa 
and Danny Salcido.
