Father Craig Harrison and Father Ralph Belluomini will officiate. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery. Mary was born on July 1, 1920 in Bakersfield, California to Jean and Grace Elizalde. She was raised and worked at the Noriega Hotel with her mother, sister and brothers until she married her husband, John 5 Ansolabehere in 1941. Mary was an honorary member of the Kern County Basque Club and an active member of the Kern County Bo-Peeps Auxiliary where everyone always looked forward to Marys jokes at their monthly meetings. Her interest included: arts and crafts, daily crossword puzzles, cooking, Bingo outings and traveling with the Golden Girls. Mary was also known in the community for her knowledge of Kern County Basque history. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, John; her father, Jean Elizalde; her mother, Grace Elizalde; her sister, Jeanne Mendiburu; and brothers, Albert and Louie Elizalde; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Bernatene, Mary Eyherabide and Janice Elizalde; and brothers-in-law, Fred Ansolabehere, Pete Ansolabehere, Marcel Bernatene and Pascal Eyherabide. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Yvonne Iturriria and husband, Fernando; two sons, Michael Ansolabehere and wife, Jeanne and Albert Ansolabehere; five grandchildren, Teresa Iturriria, Freddie Iturriria and wife, Chris, Joey Iturriria, Michael Ansolabehere and Jeannette Ansolabehere; two great- grandchildren, Isabel and Nicholas Iturriria; sisters-in-law, Catherine Ansolabehere and Alice Ansolabehere; and brother-in-law, Joe Mendiburu; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Steve Eyherabide, Fred Ansolabehere, Jesus Onaindia, Jeff Clark, Pat Sullivan and John Etcheverry. Viewing will be held at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank Dr. Patel and his staff at CBCC, Mercy Hospital and Mercy Skilled Nursing for their excellent care of Mary during her illness.
