Frances was an extraordinary woman, a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who passed away peacefully November 29, 2004 at her home in Bakersfield. Frances was born October 4, 1931 in Bakersfield. She met her future husband here in Bakersfield and on October 29, 1950 she married Arthur Bonilla Arriola. She was employed by Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and enjoyed working there until she retired after 30 years of service. Her retirement allowed her time to become involved with her grandchildrens many sports activities. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her generosity, kindness and her sense of humor. Nothing was more important to Frances than her family. She is preceded in death by Arthur, her husband of 31 years. She is survived by her children, eldest son and daughter-in-law, Arthur John and Nadine Louise Arriola and their children, Arthur John III and Alicia Jene Arriola; her daughter and son- in-law, Nancy Ann and Steven Kenneth Shelton and their sons, Chad Robert, Todd Steven, and Bret David Shelton and her younger son and daughter-in-law, Ricky David and Diana Gail Arriola and their sons, Adam David, Blake Vincent, and Vincent Michael Arriola all of Bakersfield; two brothers, Ray Soto and Angel Cervantes also of Bakersfield and three sisters, Beatrice Avila of Bakersfield and Evelyn Velverda and Carrie Quintana of Visalia, CA. Thank you to Toni Hernandez, Angie Garriot, and Rosie Flint for their staunch support and loving care for Frances throughout her life and during her last illness, and to her friends the Mall Walkers who shared their tears and laughter with her these last few years. Special thanks to Kyle Ray and Tiffany Porter of Optimal Hospice for their tender care of Frances. Thank you to family and friends for all your many expressions of support and prayers. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Optimal Hospice. Frances was a beautiful person. She will be remembered with great love.
