Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Delano Cemetery. Pastor Charles Toy will officiate. Hope was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. She passed away very peacefully among her family on December 1, in Bakersfield. Hope was born July 25th, 1921 in Numaran Michuacan in Mexico. She came to Kern County with her family when she was two years old. She worked briefly as a farm laborer before becoming a homemaker where she took care of her children and her grandchildren. She married Pascual Magana Sr. in 1943. After his death in 1958, she went on to marry Fermin Martinez in 1970. She loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She lived a long and beautiful life. She was deeply loved and will truly be missed. She will remain in our hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fermin Martinez; her son, Ray Magana and her sister, Jenny Rickman. She is survived by her three children, Pascual Magana Jr. of Ontario, CA, her daughters, Dela Cadiz and Eleanor of Delano; her brothers, Reuben and Bobby Mendoza; her sisters, Josie Sanchez, Carmen Garcia and Rachel Arambula; 18 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Serving as Pallbearers will be Martin Espinoza, Johnny Espinoza Jr., Gabriel Magana, Jose Cadiz Jr., Pascual Magana III, Eric Magana, David Hernandez and Isa Dougan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Everette Magana, Keith Magana, Joshua Magana, Michael Mendoza, Christopher Crider and Sean Cassidy. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
