Mr. Stafford was born Feb. 5 in Morrowville, Kan., James and Mary Stafford. At an early age, he moved to California with his family where he graduated from Paso Robles High School. He was a sergeant in the United Stated Marine Corps during the Korean War and participated in many combat operations including the Chosin Campaign. After his military service ended, Mr. Stafford was a business owner, operating a service station for many years. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors and as a young man, he loved to snow ski. He retired to Tehachapi in 1998 to be near his grandchildren. Mr. Stafford is survived by his daughters Jill Stafford, Laurie Stafford and Stephanie Corey and her husband William, all of Tehachapi; grandchildren B.J., Christopher, Jeffery Corey and Michelle Stafford; brother Ralph Stafford of Atascadero; and sisters Edith Heaton of Paso Robles and Louella Harris of Canada. Pastor Errol Shallie will officiate at the service. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the cremation arrangements. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to the deceased.
