Mildred Irene Woosley

Chapel services for Mildred Irene Woosley will be held on Friday, December 10, 
2004, at 1:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 
to 8 p.m. 

Mildred Irene Woosley was born on October 9, 1909, in Browns Valley, CA, to 
Karl and Rebecca Clemens and went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2004 in 
Bakersfield. She has lived in Bakersfield for 64 years and her last employment 
was as a bookkeeper at Wattenbarger Lumber Company. During WWII, Mildred was 
an Aviation Engineering Supervisor in a war plant in Bakersfield. In her 
earlier years, she wrote poetry-mostly about her family, she was an avid 
golfer winning awards in her division. She loved gardening, cross-stitching, 
embroidering, and was an excellent seamstress. Mildred was a member of the 
North of the River Womens Club and Garden Club.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul J. Woosley and 
stepson, Paul J. Woosley, Jr. Survivors are her daughter, Barbara Shearer; 
son, Richard M. Roth and wife, Donna; stepdaughter, Zorayda Jones; 
grandchildren, Steve, Rebecca, Steve and John Roth, Doug, Dennis and James M. 
Shearer, Gail Thompson, Dave Woosley, and Paula Davis; 10 great-grandchildren 
and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will be missed 
greatly by all.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dennis and Douglas Shearer, John and Stephen Roth, 
Adam Goss, Fred and Daniel Thompson.
