Donald E. Bookout
June 8, 1932 - December 6, 2004

Don as he liked to be called, passed away Monday, December 6th after battling 
the effects of a stroke he suffered two weeks before. He will be missed 
dearly. 

Don was born in Montebello, Californa and grew up in Long Beach. There he met 
and married his lovely, caring wife of fifty years, Pat. After Don served in 
the National Guard he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Don worked in 
the oil well surveying business until moving to Bakersfield in 1971 and 
becoming a partner in a steel fabrication business, Hall Machine, then later 
becoming partners with his sons at Western Fabrication and Equipment, where he 
still designed equipment until his illness. He was very respected and liked in 
his field.

Don was a kind and gentle husband, father and Papa: he loved being around his 
family and most of all his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Julie, son-in-law, Steve, 
grandsons, Kent and David, son, Brent, daughter-in-law, Renee, grandsons, 
Blake and Donald, son, Brad, daughter-in-law, Kimberlee, granddaughter, 
Delaney and grandson, Ross.

He will be missed and remembered always.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 15th at 1:00 p.m. at 
Hillcrest Chapel.
