He was the third and youngest son of James and Sue Kilgore. He passed from this life on to the next on December 12, 2004, in Bakersfield, California. He moved with his family to Shafter in 1980. Ed attended Richland School and graduated from Shafter High School in 1989. He is survived by his pride and joy, his son, Tyler of Dustin Acres; mom, Sue Kilgore of Bakersfield; dad and stepmom, Jim and Norma Kilgore of Bakersfield; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Tracey Kilgore and family of Taft, and Robert and Dianna Kilgore and family of Bakersfield; and a list of friends too long to name. He was a determined and independent boy, qualities he continued to demonstrate and practice as a young man. He believed in and had convictions for a strong work ethic. Ed was loyal and faithful to those he worked for always determined to do what was right. He believed in telling you the truth and would look you in the eye without hesitation. Active in the trucking industry and a professional in his field, many will attest to this description. Ed was a great brother, father, friend and son, always there and always available when needed. Attentive when sharing conversation or concerns. Thank you for all the laughter you shared with us. Ed, you fought a courageous and hard battle. Rest, for your spirit will continue in the life of your son and all that were privileged to have known you. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation of San Joaquin Valley, 1830 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301.
