Frank was born in Kansas City, Kansas on July 21, 1921 and he passed away in Bakersfield on Monday afternoon, December 13, 2004 with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Mujica Gaona and Maria Frausto Gaona; brothers, Tomas, Jesus, and Ralph Gaona and his nephews, Cornelius and Jesse Gaona. He is survived by his sisters, Carol Nava and Dora Alonzo; nephews, Venancio, Peter, Mike, Ralph, Jr. and Manuel Gaona and Geronimo, Alonzo, Jr. and Arthur Nava; nieces, Alicia Gonzales, Cecilia Gutierrez, Carol Pagela and Rachael Moore and various other great nephews, great nieces and other relatives. Although Frank did not have children of his own, he served as a surrogate father figure to the young through his attention and constant support he gave them. He was quiet and patient in his demeanor toward the extended family youth. He assisted them to succeed and achieve their lifes dreams. He was one who unselfishly gave more than he himself received. Frank had various interests and hobbies that he passed on by creating an inquisitive mindset in the young ones. He sustained the family name.
