Kosewick 2/6/1915 12/13/2004 Dr. Sigmund Antinor Kosewick, 89, was born February 6, 1915, in Carnegie, Pennsylvania to Mateus and Michelina Kosewick and passed away December 13, 2004, at Saddleback Hospital in Laguna Hills, California. Sigmund was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Terrell Kosewick; his daughter, Mary Annette Kosewick; his seven brothers and one sister. A Pearl Harbor survivor, Sigmund was very proud of his twelve year (1934-1946) enlistment and service to his country in the U.S. Navy. Sigmund went on to earn his two Bachelors of Science degrees from Wilmington College and the Ohio State University. He later earned his M.D. from the Ohio State University in 1952. Dr. Kosewick served in the California State Hospital for the Mentally Handicapped System from 1958-1970, taking positions at the Porterville State Hospital in Porterville and the Fairview State Hospital in Costa Mesa. Concurrently, he served his psychiatric residency at Patton State Hospital. He later served as Medical Director of Kernview Hospital in Bakersfield. An avid book collector, Sigmund created a library with thousands of titles on his bookshelves. Dr. Kosewick is survived by his son, John Kosewick and his wife, Jackie; his daughter, Suzanne and her husband, David; his grandchildren, Jason Kosewick, Jenna Nolan, Jeff Kosewick, Alee Wardwell and Mark Jones; his great- grandchildren, Kevin Kosewick, Nicholas Nolan, Heath Wardwell and Sophia Wardwell.
