Our beloved Mom was born on September 20, 1920 in Bakersfield and she went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2004 in Bakersfield with her family by her side. Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Jusbert Meza, mother, Providencia Chavez, children, Gilbert, Lulu, Danny Boy and Diana Gonzales and son-in-law, Jerry Gonzales and she is survived by her son, Salvador Gonzales; daughters, Marion Cornejo, Carol Sexton, Rose Marie Gonzales; son and daughter- in-law, Jusbert and Linda Meza; brother, Tommy Neri; sister, Sophie Soto; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mom resided here most of her life, and was a homemaker until she became very ill. Mom loved mariachi music, crocheting, cooking, baking, sewing, she loved going for drives, but most of all she loved her family and friends and we knew it. She touched and impacted many people throughout her 84 years on earth, and we believe we are far more richer for knowing her. She will best be remembered as the most loving, caring, thoughtful, kindly, encouraging person who also loved to laugh, play card games, chicken foot, dancing, singing and playing pool. She was a very articulate lady who loved to look her very best in dress and makeup. According to one of her very young grandsons, Grandma was Tight (Cool) and we are all in agreement. We wish to thank her doctors, Dr. Ishimori, Dr. Ashraf, and Dr. McCauley as well as the staff at San Joaquin Community Hospital and a special thanks to Ruth Hernandez for staying at the hospital every day with mom and to all the family and friends who came to visit or call and especially for your prayers.
