California Ave. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Elva Sanchez Terrazas went home to be with our Lord December 27, 2004, in Bakersfield, CA with her loving family at her side. She was 72. Elva was born August 13, 1932 to Juan Luera and Angelita Ornelas Sanchez in El Mulato, Mexico. She was married to Isidoro G. Terrazas Sr. in 1957, who preceded her in death as well as her parents and brother, Juan O. Sanchez. She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Martha T. Perez, Virginia T. Hernandez and Lorenzo, Olivia T. Macias and Oscar, Isidoro S. Terrazas Jr. and Sylvia, Yolanda T. Romero and Martin, Minerva T. Mercado. She was a loving grandma (Nana) to 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters and brothers, Celia Padilla, Amelia Jauregui, Manuela (Nellie) Trevino, Celedonio Sanchez and Emilio Sanchez. She will be missed by many other family members and friends. Elva attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a member of La Sociedad de Guadalupanas. While in good health she loved to cook, play dominos and poker and enjoyed going to the casinos. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Ruben Perez Jr., Matthew Terrazas, Robert Contreras Jr., Lorenzo Hernandez Jr., Christopher Terrazas and Isaac Hernandez. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Joseph Mercado, Eric Mercado and Alex Mercado. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Augustine Munoz, his medical assistant, Valerie and staff at Kern Faculty Medical Group along with Dr. Hashim Kazmi, his medical assistant, Amparo and staff at Central Nephrology for the great care and compassion shown to our mother.
