Cosper Jr. Services: Thurs., Dec. 30, 12 noon Dad left us peacefully on December 28, 2004. He is with the Lord now after spending his life following his teachings. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2004, at 12 noon at Hillcrest Memorial Park for Floyd A. Cosper Jr., age 80, of Bakersfield. Floyd was born on September 13, 1924 in Pennsylvania. He served in the Navy from May 1943 until his honorable discharge on January 2, 1946. He married his childhood sweetheart, Blanche Louise Myers on August 4, 1944 while home on leave from the Navy and they celebrated their 60th anniversary August 4th of this year. She was the love of his life. After being discharged from the Navy he moved Blanche and their three children to Bakersfield. His life was built on his love of God, family values and a strong work ethic. He was a true gentleman. He is survived by his wife, Blanche; three children, Sharon, Susan and Jim; his daughter-in-law, Kim; and his two grandchildren, Jessica and Jake. He is also survived by a brother, George; and two sisters, Mick and Kit and other relatives residing in Pennsylvania. Special thanks are due to the caregivers that have become our family. Barbara Pratt, Sharon Mulholland, her mother, June Price and her mother-in-law, Joann Mulholland and Rosie Briggs. Dads last days were spent with dignity and quality thanks to them. Also many thanks to all the doctors that helped us keep Dad as long as we did. Floyds grandson said it best in a birthday card for his 80th birthday. Grandpa you are the ideal man, better yet, the ideal human being. You are kind, humble, and always place others before yourself. You are a great Grandpa. What is there that you can not do? You moved to California with next to nothing and look what youve accomplished! If I can be half the man you have been, I will be a great person, friend, dad, husband, and brother. I love you so much. We all do. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
