Rev. George Horner and Mike Samply will be officiating. Emil was born on September 25, 1911, in Menno, South Dakota, to Jacob and Magdalena Lehr. Married Eshter Kludt in Menno, South Dakota on September 5, 1937 and shared 66 years of marriage before her passing on September 8, 2003. They had two children, Harland Lehr and his wife, Beverly, Bakersfield and a daughter, Eunice Stillman that passed away April 5, 1995; two grandchildren, Aaron Lehr and his wife, Stephanie of Valley Springs, CA and Randy Lehr who passed away July 31, 1991; 3 great-grandchildren, Christopher Lehr, Danielle Lehr of Bakersfield, and Nicholas Lehr of Broken Arrow, OK; 2 stepgrandchildren, Nic DeAngeles and Jac Fieguth of Valley Springs, CA. Emil had 4 brothers, Leo Lehr, Herbert Lehr, Arthur Lehr and Tilman Lehr; and 2 sisters, Irene Lehr and Ella Lehr. (Living are Lehr Lehr, Bakersfield and Irene Lehr, San Francisco). Emil will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Emil and Esther moved to Bakersfield from Menno, SD in 1939. Emil devoted his life to his family. Was a very successful farmer and with his brother formed Lehr Brothers in Edison, CA. Founding member of the Grace Reformed Church of Bakersfield and the Bakersfield Country Club. He loved to golf and collect stamps. Pallbearers will be Don Doerksen, Dave Hardan, Keven Huckaby, Scott Pursel, Christopher Lehr, Nick DeAngeles. In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to the Hoffman Hospice. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, June 30, 4-8 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel.
