Ruth Elizabeth Northway
1/1/1915 6/24/2004

Ruth was born January 1, 1915, in Iowa to Sam and Lilly Cook and passed away 
June 24, 2004, at the age of 89. The family moved to California in 1923. Ruth 
married Del Northway in 1935 and had three children, Audrey, Terry and Marsha. 
Del was killed in a auto/train accident in 1948. Ruth went to work to support 
three very young children. She worked at Kern Medical Center in Medical 
Records for 27 years, retiring in 1978. Ruth loved to knit, crochet, make 
pottery, grow tomatoes and spoil her two little dogs. One especially happy 
time in her life was being reunited with her grandson, Aaron in 1998 after 
having been separated from him after the death of her daughter, Audrey in 
1973, what a joyful day that was for all of our family. Ruth worked hard all 
her life and was loved and will be missed by many. 

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Del Northway; daughter, 
Audrey Bertch; grandson, Bryan Neufeld; and brothers, Walter and Robert Cook. 
Survived by daughter, Marsha Garzoli; son, Terry Northway; stepson, Del 
Northway; granddaughter, Gina (and Tim) Davis; grandsons, Blake (and Kathy) 
Neufeld, Aaron (and Tracy) Andreassen; great-grand-children, Tyson and Ensley 
Davis, Tricia Neufeld, Jordin Neufeld, and Evan and Danny Andreassen; and 
Ruths sisters, Irene McNamara, Hazel Mickey; and brothers, Howard and Wesley 
Cook.

At Ruths request there will be no services.
