California Ave.) Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Margie went home after a long and courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side, peacefully to be with our Lord and her loving parents, Emerciano and Petra Nieto who welcomed her with open arms on December 29, 2004. Margie was 53 and was born on June 15, 1951 in Bakersfield to Emerciano and Petra Nieto who preceded her in death as well as her grandparents, her brother Rosalio Nieto, brother-in-law Robert Esqueda, 3 nephews and 2 nieces. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving children, whom she loved with all her heart, Petie, Tony, Joel and Alexa; her sisters, Mary and Carlos Banales, Conchita Nieto, Teresa and Henry Sanchez, Angela Esqueda, and Nina Lupe Aceves; brothers, Nano and Rowena, Joe and Juanita, Steve and Mary Gilbert, and Anita; 47 nieces and nephews who adored her. Margie attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School and graduated from Garces High School, Bakersfield College and attended the University of Mexico. She was a member of the Legion of Mary. Pallbearers will be Eric Sanchez, Rick Martinez, Rosalio Banales, Gilbert Nieto, Jr., Joe Nieto, Jr., and Freddy Vasquez. Aunt Margie knew a good time, loved life, laughter, music and family. She always had a smile on her face and always had an open door and time for everyone who needed it. Not only was she our aunt, she was our friend. We will miss her forever and forever, she will be in our hearts. We love you Aunt Margie! The family would like to extend a special thanks you to Dr. Elbere and the Surgical/Oncology staff at UCLA for the great care and compassion you gave to our mother and our aunt.
