Lowell R. Childers
6/9/1956 - 12/30/2004

Lowell R. Childers was born in Taft, CA to Delores Shaw and Leo Childers on 
June 9, 1956. He passed away on December 30, 2004 at the age of 48. 

Lowe, as he liked to be called by his friends and family, graduated from Taft 
High School in 1974. Following a short stint in the Navy, he settled in Arvin, 
CA for 17 years, where he worked as an Insurance Salesman. His last 10 years 
were spent in Tehachapi and Bakersfield. Lowe was a vibrant, beautiful person 
with a personality that lit up the room and an intoxicating laugh that will 
always be remembered. He had many friends and was loved by them.

Lowe was preceded in death by his father, Leo. He is survived by his life 
partner, John Willey; his mother, Delores Shaw Henry; his stepfather, Robert 
Healey; sisters, Nellie Brooks and Cathy McCormick; brother, Jim McCormick; 
adopted sisters, Susie Roady and Penny Holland and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration of Lowes life will be held at the home of John Willey, 
1901 1st Street, Bakersfield on Saturday, January 8, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. In 
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bakersfield Aids Project, 3409 
Wenatchee, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
