Irma Jean Goates (Friesen)
July 4,1945 - January 1, 2005

Irma was born in Bakersfield, CA on the 4th of July in 1945. She left us to be 
with the Lord on January 1st, 2005. Irma is survived by her daughter, Michele 
Embrey of Fresno; son, David Embrey of Bakersfield; two brothers and two 
sisters, Neva Easter of Bakersfield, Robert Friesen and wife, Enid of 
Bakersfield, Geraldine Jerre Brunk and husband, Clifford of Fresno, and Larry 
Friesen and wife, Pat of Michigan, six grandchildren: Rachelle McClure, Jeff 
McClure, Berkley Embrey, Conrad Embrey, Kimberly Embrey, and Bianca Waxman, 
eight nephews, eight nieces, ten great nephews, eight great nieces, one great 
great nephew, and many more extended family members and very good friends. 
Irma was preceded in death by her parents, David and Alva Friesen. Irma lived 
in Bakersfield most of her life and attended Bakersfield High School where she 
graduated in 1963. She truly enjoyed the relationships she had with so many 
people, family, friends, and Jesus himself. Irma will truly be missed by all 
who knew her. 

Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Mortuary in Bakersfield, CA on Thursday, 
January 6, 2005 between four and eight p.m. Chapel services will be held at 
Hillcrest Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 7, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. and a 
graveside service will follow. Services will be officiated by Reverend Herbert 
Smith.
