Britten Services: Sat., Jan. 8, 11 a.m. Louise E. Britten, 91, a retired teacher from the Fresno Unified School District, died Sunday at Glenwood Gardens Skilled nursing in Bakersfield. Mrs. Britten was born in Oakland, California, February 27, 1913, and spent most of her life in Fresno. She was graduated from Fresno State Normal School in 1934 and taught in many San Joaquin Valley towns in the early days. She was married to Hudson N. Britten, a civil engineer, in 1940, and continued teaching until 1973. She was loved by all who knew her and is survived by her daughter, Anne Santer of Bakersfield, and her grandson, Jeff Gymer of Fresno. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, at the Yost and Webb Funeral Home in Fresno. Memorial gifts may be sent to Valley Childrens Hospital.
