After serving in the United States Navy as a navigator in World War II’s Pacific Theater, he graduated from the University of Southern California and was in marketing sales most of his career. An avid golfer, tennis player, skier, world traveler and a barber shop quartet singer, Jim had a zest for life. He is survived by his beloved wife Holly Smith Turman and two beloved daughters, Pamela (Dan) of Fullerton and granddaughter Ashley; Sally Barrett (Brent) of Ballwin, Mo. and grandsons Brent, Jr., Jeremy, James and Daniel; his sister Lucile Toole and niece Donna Wolff.
