She was born Rachel Catherine Louise Helsel on January 22, 1916 in Lima, Ohio, the only child of Samuel Harlin and Leora Armina Helsel. Her family later moved to California, where she attended schools in Maricopa. She married Ellis Watts in 1935 in Taft, CA, she later married O.B. Walker in 1964. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and employed for many years at the Crocker National Bank in Taft, where she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Taft, where her mother carved the pulpit and lecturn. She is survived by her son, Harlin Watts and his wife Nancy of Lodi, CA; daughter-in-law, Gayle Watts of Lodi, CA; four grandchildren, Kim Watts of Hayward, Ca, Ann Loleng of Apple Valley, CA, Kathy Parker of Seattle, WA, and Brian Watts of Lodi, CA; 2 great-grandchildren, Jeannie Watts and Noah Paul Watts of Lodi, CA; and her many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, O.B. Walker, of Bakersfield and a son, Paul Watts, of Lodi, Ca. There will be no visitation with a graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Park on July 1, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made in Louises memory to the Rosewood Chaplain Fund at 1301 New Stine Rd., Bakersfield, CA 93309.
