Born June Lois Burgess in Alameda, CA, June spent her early childhood on a farm in the San Louis Valley, CO. As a teen she moved to Montrose, CO, where she met and married Rocky Seago in 1945. After the war, they moved into a log cabin in Silverton, CO as Rocky worked in the mine. Opportunity brought June and Rocky to California, where in 1952 they settled in Bakersfield. They raised their family of four boys here, educating them at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and Garces High School. June was an active member of the community, serving as a volunteer Den Mother for Den 1, Pack 306 for ten consecutive years. Along with her four sons, she mentored many young boys with good example and solid values. June was a wonderful mother. She was tireless in doing whatever she could to provide her sons with opportunities to learn and grow. Whether it was the endless transportation to swimming lessons, or scrimping to pay for music lessons, or ballroom dancing lessons, or helping with a Boy Scout merit badge, she was always there for her children. June was famous for taking pictures and ensuring everyone got a copy, complete with handwritten description. June and Rocky were married for 52 years before his passing in 1996. She is survived by her four sons including John in San Jose, CA, Randall in Saratoga, CA, Greg in Fort Smith, AR, and Brad in Boulder, CO. Her four boys have a total of fourteen grandchildren between them. June lived a life that served her family as well as her community, and honored her Catholic faith. A Rosary and Mass for June will commence at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 9:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8th. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery.
