Velma N. Dunn
Services: Tues., Jan. 11, 2:30 p.m.

Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., 
for Velma Dunn, 81, who passed away January 4, 2005. Pastor Milt Cole will 
officiate. 

Mrs. Dunn was born on January 2, 1924, in Jerusalem, Arkansas and resided in 
Kern County for 61 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ for more 
than 50 years. Velma enjoyed her daily walks, telling her life story to her 
grandchildren and her year-round Christmas tree with all the dolls tied to it.

Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Cecil Dunn; 
daughter, MaryAnn Dunn and brother, Ken Bates. She is survived by her 
daughter, Carolyn Dunn of Bakersfield; granddaughters, Jamie Dawson, Carol 
Dawson and Lindsey Wood; great-granddaughter, Myia Dupree all of Bakersfield; 
brothers, Harold Bates, Doyle Bates and Carrol Bates all of Arkansas and 
Gerold Hill of Texas.

Visitation begins Monday, 12:00-9:00 p.m.
