Cecil also known as Scotty, Daddy and Grandpa, was born in Barstow, CA in 1935 and passed away at the Bakersfield Heart Hospital on January 6, 2005. Scotty was a U.S. Navy Veteran that served his country during the Korean War. He was a chef and a baker most of his life. Residing in Bakersfield for 68 of his 69, he worked with his Dad at Scottys Pie Shop where he mastered the art of baking. Scotty is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nancy Scott; seven children, Raymond L. Baker, Jesse T. Baker, Julie D. Baker, Randolph L. Baker, Tabitha D. Albitre, Lisa D. Scott-Bregant and Cecil R. Scott III; 15 grandchildren; and 3 daughters-in-law and 3 sons-in-law. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren. Daddy was very special and had a personality that would make you smile or leave you speechless. He was never at a loss for words and always found the bright side when it was under the worst of circumstances. Daddy loved to cook and was a wonderful father. He helped us to learn from his own mistakes, taught us right from wrong and made us who we are today. For that and everything, we thank you and love you, Daddy. To know him as Grandpa is to know that he loved his grandkids. He will miss you all dearly. Visitation will begin Sunday, January 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary Funeral Directors Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
