Voth Norm 1923 - 2005 Norman Voth was born November 2, 1923 in North Dakota to Mary and Peter J. Voth. He was the tenth of 13 children. The family moved to California when he was a young boy. Norman has lived in the Long Beach area, Shafter and his later adult life in Bakersfield, California. Norman proudly served his country in World War II, and loved to tell stories of his time overseas. His civilian life was spent working in the Oilfields for 30 years. He retired with Union Oil, Long Beach. Norman loved farming and tending to sheep, rabbits, chickens, Etc. His passion was working in his rose gardens, keeping his fruit trees and his lawn looking nice. He also enjoyed watching baseball (Dodgers), football, and wrestling and visiting with friends and family. He passed away in his sleep on January 4, 2005. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Rita; 5 brothers and 6 sisters. He is survived by his brother, Harry Voth of Meridian, Idaho; brother, Claude Voth of Gridley, CA; stepson, Dennis Nick Leach of Bakersfield, CA; numerous great/grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins. A Patriotic service will be held in honor of Norman on Monday, January 10, at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will be held the previous Sunday, January 9 from Noon to 5 p.m. Services will take place at Mish Funeral Home in Oildale.
