Brown June 10, 1928 January 7, 2005 A memorial for Joe M. Brown, 76, of Dixon, is set for 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 12, at Dixon Community Church. Burial will be in Silveyville Cemetery. Catherine Norris will officiate. Mr. Brown died January 7, 2005, in Sacramento. Born June 10, 1928, in Erick, Oklahoma, he owned Central Auto Parts in Dixon for 29 years. He had worked for Cranston International in Woodland for 11 years and Kern County Equipment in Bakersfield and Wasco for 15 years. As a younger man, he enjoyed bowling, trips to Reno or Tahoe, visiting friends and relatives, and watching college (California State University Sacramento) and professional (Dallas Cowboys) football. Mr. Brown did many things well he loved well his wife, Nita; raised well his two daughters; spoiled well his three grandchildren; provided well for all his family; conducted well his business and financial affairs; and enjoyed well his many friends throughout his life. He will be remembered well. Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. Brown and Ray Camby; daughter, Jo Ann Espitallier; aunt, Ida Wilson of OK; sister, Oleta Armstrong of CA; brother, Elvin of CA; grandchildren, Anna, Maddie and Nathan Espitallier; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families; and many friends from every place he lived or worked. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nita, in 2002. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dixon Volunteer Fire Department or the American Heart Association.
