Lee was born on June 23, 1917, in Goss, Louisiana, to William A. and Ethel Savage. He grew up in Texas and worked in the oil fields as a young man. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy, 1943-1945. He spent 32 years working shift work as a unit operator for Union Oils Oleum refinery near Rodeo, CA. After retirement, he moved to Visalia where he resided for almost 25 years. He relocated to Everett, WA early last year. Lee enjoyed playing tennis and fast-pitch softball as a young man. In his later years, he loved watching golf and baseball (he was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves). Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Margaret. He is survived by his son, Gary Lee Savage and daughter-in-law, Sherry of Marysville, WA; grandchildren, Matthew and Scott; great-grandchidlren, Brionna and Genna; sister, Mary Clay of Bakersfield and brother, Donald Savage of Oildale. Lee was a devoted husband and a loving father. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be Friday, day of service.
