Robert Lee Fletcher, Sr.
June 18, 1946 January 8, 2005

Visitation for Robert Lee Fletcher, Sr. will be held at Basham Funeral Care 
(3312 Niles St.) on Thursday, January 13, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with an 
Hour of Meditation at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Funeral services will be 
held at St. John Missionary Baptist Church (1300 Brundage Lane) on Friday 
morning, January 14, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Tyree Toliver will officiate. 
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. 

Robert Lee Fletcher was born to Mr. and Mrs. Odell Fletcher, Sr. on June 18, 
1946 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He moved to Bakersfield, CA with his family in 
1957. He attended Fremont Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High and Bakersfield High 
Schools.

He loved playing dominoes and watching sports. He worked for 18 years as a 
welder in construction in Oakland, CA.

Robert loved his family very much. He was a generous and caring person who was 
always willing to help his family and friends. Robert never met a stranger and 
he touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his father and mother, Odell and Bennie 
Fletcher, Sr.; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Odell (Sonny) Fletcher 
Jr., Bobby Fletcher and his wife, Brenda Fletcher, and Jimmy Fletcher, all of 
Bakersfield, CA; one sister, Zenola Grier of Bakersfield, CA; six children, 
Nikki, Robert Jr., La Shawn, and Ronetta Fletcher; and 6 grandchildren; a very 
special friend, Lenora Coleman; a very special Aunt and Uncle Joe and Gladys 
Kennedy and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other family and friends.
