Pauline Stonebarger
October 6, 1925 January 6, 2005

Pauline was born to Oscar and Cora Downum on October 6, 1925 in Stidaham, 
Oklahoma. In 1942, she married Sylvester Stonebarger. Together they had 9 
children. She moved back to Arvin in 1961, where she worked as a cook in many 
of Arvins restaurants, until she retired. 

She went home to meet the Lord on January 6, 2005. She was proceeded in death 
by husband, Sylvester in 1969, and son, Johnny in 2000. Brother, Wayne Downum, 
and sister, Bertha McSweeney.

She leaves behind five daughters: Barbara and husband, Leon Hooser of 
Colorado, Sue Gore of Bakersfield, Sylvia Shields of San Diego, Laura and 
husband, Bill Garner of Bakersfield, Debra Burnett of Arvin. Three sons: Tommy 
and Larry of Arvin, Denton and wife, Regina of Bakersfield. 29 grandchildren 
and 48 great grandchildren. Sister, Susan Bolger of Arkansas, and brother, 
Jimmy Downum of Bakersfield. Numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many many 
friends. 

The family would like to thank Hospice for all their support. 

She will be dearly missed and will stay in our hearts forever. 

Services will be held Friday, January 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First 
Southern Baptist Church located on Laurel Street in Arvin, CA. Interment will 
be at the Arvin Cemetery.
