Melford Eugene Ramsdell

January 16, 1943 June 27, 2004 

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Melford Eugene Ramsdell will be 
held on Saturday, July 3, at 1:00 p.m., at the Mish Funeral Home Chapel in 
Oildale.

Mel was born in Taft, CA, on January 16, 1943 and passed away in Bakersfield, 
California on June 27, 2004. After serving in the Army, he returned home to 
begin a 30-year career as Fire Chief with the State of California. Mel and 
family attended the East Hills Christian Church. 

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Ramsdell; and wife, Sylvia Ramsdell; two 
sons, George Ramsdell and his wife, Jackie, and Greg Ramsdell; one grandson, 
Joshua, and one grandchild due in September; one brother, Mike Ramsdell and 
his wife, Bonnie; nieces and nephews, Michael, La Donna, Emilee and Zachary. 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Society.
