After high school he took business classes while working at Ford Motor Company. During the war, he came to California and was stationed at McClellan AFB and Minter Field working as a repair specialist on airplanes. He started working in a rented garage while learning through trial and error how to upholster car interiors. He eventually built and opened Specialty Trim and Awning Co. in 1945. Business expanded to boat covers, tarps and specialty oilfield accessories. He sold the business in 1979 and eventually moved to Paradise, California in 1983. In 1946, he met and married Vera Angeroth of Council Bluffs, Iowa. They were married 56 years until her passing in December 2002. He was affiliated with Toastmasters International for many years and was governor of District 12 in 1961. He was also active in the Paradise Owners Association in Magalia, California. He loved to go hunting with his cousin Hank Vineze in Oregon and enjoyed living out his life in the mountains of Paradise. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Pearson and Husband Mickey, Mary Beth Weimer and husband Bob of Pekin, Illinois, four grandchildren, Traci Bramlett and husband Bobby, Eric Pearson, both of Bakersfield, Brian Duke and Jason Duke of Pekin, Illinois and a great-grandchild, Cole Bramlett of Bakersfield. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimers Association. A visitation will be held on Sunday 1/16/05 from 11 5 p.m. at Hillcrest Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Mortuary on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
