Kenneth Eugene "Blue" Wedding
11/20/1925 01/14/2005

Kenny was born in Bakersfield, CA on November 20, 1925 to James & Ella 
Wedding. He attended Standard Elementary & Kern County Union High School, 
entering the United States Navy at age seventeen & serving his country for 
four years. 

Kenny returned to Bakersfield & started working for Kern Oil, then moved on to 
a career in earthmoving with Sturgeon & Son, which lasted several decades. 
Many friendships were established through Kennys years in supervising 
earthwork throughout the Valley. Upon his retirement, Kenny spent most of his 
time running back & forth from Oildale to his cattle ranch in Woody, making 
sure things were right & all had water (especially his trees). Kenny was a 3rd 
Degree Mason, Teamster & original member of the Bakersfield Smokers (drag 
racing). 

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Jim & Ella Wedding and his nephew 
Kenny Dovichi. He is survived by his children, Jim & Carol Wedding & Laura & 
Billy Joe Sheets. His sister & brother-in-law, Velma & Bud Dovichi, along with 
nephew, John Dovichi & niece, Lindy Brown. Grandpa Kenny had 5 granddaughters, 
Gemi, Robin, Casey, Shannon, Shelly & 7 great-grandsons. Memorial funeral 
services will be held Wednesday at 10 A.M. in the great room at Mission Family 
Mortuary, 531 California Avenue. Full Military Honors will be by the 
Bakersfield Associated Veterans.
