In April 2004, she was diagnosed with cancer and fought a valiant battle that ended last week in the comfort of her home among family and friends. Mary enjoyed many things in life. She was honored to be part of the first graduating class of Quartz Hill High School in 1967. She went to work almost immediately after graduating high school when she accepted an entry level clerical position for Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Service. During her 37- year career with Los Angeles County, she worked her way up the ranks to become the office manager of the district attorney's office, child support division located in the Antelope Valley. Mary lived for her animals and her country place was often home to more animals than people. If it had feathers or fur, it was welcomed company around the Love Acres. Mary enjoyed a 20-year friendship and business partnership with friend, Robin Lundin, raising and training American Quarter Horses and Paint Horses. Occasionally, Mary traveled and her interest in travel was not so much where she was going, but what she found there. Mary is survived by her father, John Findley and wife Ruth of Juniper Hills; husband, Paul Love; daughter, Jessica Horton, son-in-law Rick and granddaughter Spencer Taylor; stepson, Duwayne Love and spouse Cindy; and stepdaughter, Christina Airey. Mary was a wonderful stepgrandmother to Heather and David Hannah, Annie and Allen Airey; a kind sister to Gene and Pattie Schelest of Long Beach, Doris and Mark Lora of Tehachapi and Brady and Jeanne High Hanford; a generous aunt to Andy and Barbara Schelest, Devin and Megan High and Raisa Lora; and a great- aunt to Terra, Brittany and Courtney. Mary is also survived by many cousins and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Myra Robinson of Tehachapi. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. Mary was interned near her mother and grandmother at Joshua Memorial Park on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
