Smith 07/02/1932 01/18/2005 Services: Sat. Jan 22, 11:00 a.m. Our loving wife, mother, Gram and Great-Gram went home to be with the Lord after a brief illness. Carolyn was the penultimate secretary/editor beginning with service as secretary to the BHS Class of 1950 which continued through five 10 year class reunions. For 12 years she was a contributor and editor of The Pipeline Newsletter of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union #460. And finally, an 8 year stint as secretary of the Bible Study Fellowship Class. She was also actively involved in Womens Fellowship and the choir at Fruitvale Community Church/Riverlakes Community Church for over 30 years. Her desire to serve was a gift from her Lord Jesus Christ who Himself came to serve to save. Carolyns Christ-Centered life revolved around her Lord first then her family. She was the wife of Billie D. Smith; mom to Cindy and Roger Jones, Bill and Rosie Kesterson, Joe and Norma Smith; Gram to Jeff and Char Jones, Sara Kesterson and Billy Kesterson, Julianne and Fritz Mayer, Nikki Smith and Christian Smith; Great-Gram to Justin, Zachary and Lisa Kesterson, Jenna Mayer and Parker Jones. Her greatest joy was knowing all her offspring had made confessions of faith and were walking with Jesus. She was predeceased by her parents John and Hattie Durant. Carolyn leaves behind her brother Ken Durant and his wife Louise along with hundreds of friends who were truly blessed by just knowing her. A celebration of Carolyns life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Riverlakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Drive. Reception to follow.
