Sandy was born in Bakersfield and lived here all of her life, She was the sixth child born to a very close family of eight girls and five boys where money was often short but love and laughter among the brothers and sisters was always present. Long lines to the bathroom in the morning, great stacks of dishes to wash and checking younger brothers or sisters feet for your missing gym socks was a daily occurrence and accepted by all because it was the norm. Growing up in those conditions Sandy developed a wry sense of humor and great story telling abilities and she kept that humor until the end. Sandys friends were many but few of them knew of her lovely singing voice because in spite of her outgoing personality she was shy about singing in front of anyone except her family. She often sang to her younger brothers and sisters at bedtime but the older ones enjoyed her sweet voice just as much. Sandys family was everything to her and she loved them all very much, especially her grandchildren. She will always be Nandy to Jimmy 3rd, mother to Jimmy 2nd and his wife Monica and Daughter Kamie Meadows. Morgan, Ryan, Cassidy and Seth Meadows. She was wife to the great love of her life, Tom, she was his morning sun and his evening light, they were best friends and shared an enduring love, a love that few people will ever experience. Daughter to Lucille Ferguson, sister to Patsy Church, Paula Boles, Caroline Wellborn, Judy Salvamoser, Clifton Sims, Marilyn Sims, Gwen Schmitt, Carly King and Trina Selvey. Three brothers, Don, Curtis and Ricky Sims preceded her in death. Sandys favorite line was, sisters are forever, You are forever Sandy, forever in our hearts. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Josephs Catholic Church on Friday, January 21, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., graveside services will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3700 River Boulevard. Pallbearers will be Joe Mann, Jimmy Meadows 3rd, Ryan Meadows, Richard Philley, Rodney Wolford and Carly King. No visitation is scheduled.
