James died on January 17, 2005, at Memorial Hospital. He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa. Preceded in death by his father, Donald Orval Wilson and mother, Esther Lena Wilson. Survived by his wife, Doris; his sister, Linda Emory and her husband, Richard; his niece, Kristen Nelson and her husband, Joel and their son, Alex; a nephew, Scott and his wife, Taunia and their children, Kelly, Dalton, Cody, Aaron, Jordan, and Brenden. He was born and raised in Rhodes, Iowa where he graduated from high school. Jim served in the U.S. Navy from July 25, 1960, until the time he was honorably discharged on June 2, 1964. His wife from a previous marriage was Toni Corbridge, the mother of Rebecca Wilson and James Wilson Jr. James had another son, Steven Patrick Wilson. Grandchildren, Heather Wilson, Blake Austin Wilson, Destinee Wilson, and James Clayton Wilson. Jims uncle, Pete Wilson and his wife, Janet, and aunt, Lela and her husband, Max. Jim had many friends. He especially enjoyed playing pool at Rasmussen Senior Center. He liked to keep in touch with old friends and school mates. Jim Perin was his life long friend from Rhodes. Leonard Mac McDermott and his wife, Linda, were best buddies. His best adopted Bakersfield friend, Glenn Thomas. Jim will be missed for his wonderful sense of humor and love for his wife, Doris and her family; son, Victor Archer and his wife, Karen; daughter, Geri Sue Jefferson; and grandchildren, Vincent Archer and Kristi, Jennifer and Matthew Jefferson. Also, his step granddaughter, Andrea Slater and her children, Jessica, Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Katlyn; along with many cousins. Memorial services to be held at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 900 Day Avenue, Bakersfield, CA. 93308, on January 29, 2005, at noon. Military rites by VFW.
